James Augustine Aloysius Joyce (2 February 1882 – 13 January 1941, paradoxically also existing in the present) was an Irish novelist, poet, and playwright-- the codifier of modernism, the leader of avant-garde, and the unchangeable master of language. In death, he is remembered as the modern Shakespeare and the god of everything. At some point in the mid-1920s, Joyce is believed to have merged with EAT to form the ultimate eldritch terror: Camper James Joyce, as he is now called. His first work as a Camper was to implement an all-encompassing goddess in his newest work, an all-knowing and all-powerful water goddess whose name is an acronym of three letters.
Camper James Joyce is the Fear of Thunderously Absolute Power, and also Irish Literature. His power extends into literally every canon that has ever existed. He is the most powerful Fear in all of them, even yours. His existence is a constant. Scholars assert that Joyce also lived in ancient times-- he died for the first time in 1132 AD, only to rise again in 1882. Even his death in 1941 was just a clever ruse to trick the public into thinking he was a normal human. He will wake...
Worshipers of Camper James Joyce are also known as "every member of the Fear Mythos whether you like it or not". A bit of a mouthful we know, but it's convention. Their holy books, while technically including anything written by the immortal punman himself, are primarily Ulysses (generally seen as a mere warm-up to prepare his loyal worshipers for the true Necronomicon) and Finnegans Wake (the true Necronomicon).
All who dare question Camper James Joyce's will find, in their mailbox, a saucy letter talking about how his wife's farts give him a total cockstand. The heathen will then be torn apart at a subatomic level, a terrifying experience Joyce refers to only as "the abnihilisation of the etym." In the name of Annah the Allmaziful, the Everliving, the Bringer of Plurabilities, haloed be her eve, her singtime sung, her rill be run, unhemmed as it is uneven! Oystrygods gaggin fishygods! Brekkek Kekkek Kekkek Kekkek! Koax Koax Koax! Ualu Ualu Ualu! Quaouauh!
So far, Fear-wise, his only direct appearance has been in The Blog Without a Face.
