The Algernon Forest is a portrayal of the Fear of Nature. It is a plant-based creature that can manifest as seed pods that infect plant and animal life, a green man-shaped creature known as "the Green Man", or as an entire forest. Anything that enters the forest or encounters one of the seed pods or the Green Man regresses, either mentally or physically.
