The Beacon is a portrayal of the Fear of Disease from The Rapture Cycle. Unlike the other Fears, it is an eldritch abomination more akin to Lovecraftian creatures. It is not a man wearing a plague doctor outfit, it is a tall "thing" in a black cloak with a giant pale beak. It glides along the floor, and it does not notice nor care for humans at all. Being around it gives people diseases, and because of its terrifying nature, humans throughout history have worshipped it and come up with legends about it (e.g. Medieval plague doctors based their costumes off of it).
