The King in the Mountain is a portrayal of The Fear of Knowledge, specifically of truth, and a member of The Answer. The King generally manifests as a large deteriorated stone statue modeled after an European king. However this is not what the King truly looks like; the statue is just an illusion and his real body is sleeping somewhere underneath the earth, waiting for the end of the world when he will finally awaken. You can ask him anything and he will answer truthfully, as he cannot tell a lie. However, his answers are so morbid and terrifying that most people will lose their minds from his words.
