The Mother of Snakes isn't just the fear of serpents, but the fear of what we are, what we have become, and what we might become. She is the fear of looking into the mirror and hating what you see. When you do, she is there to tempt you, to try to make you into the other side of the mirror, the darker side.
Her servants, the Lilim, find victims for her. They are nearly all women who have given in to the Mother and she has gifted them with fangs, scales, and an ability to travel through mirrors. In order to prevent suspicion they are capable of making themselves look more human.
She prefers to stay behind the mirrors and in her domain, the Garden of Desolation, a vast and terrible desert.
