The Sandbox Verse is a collaborative Verse which focuses on being crossover-friendly and retaining what its creators believe to be the best aspects of the early days of The Fear Mythos. The idea was originally proposed by Omega as a way of returning to the interactive connectivity between blogs without interfering with other authors' works by creating a shared setting separate from other Fear Mythos stories.
Overview[]
The overall setting of the Sandbox Verse is fairly vanilla to make it easier for stories to mesh together and let newcomers to enter without having to catch up on too much. Similarly, there is no big overarching story between blogs; the whole thing is just a big universe to play around with other writers, just like a real sandbox. That being said, crossovers between blogs is not only accepted but encouraged for those interested.
The one and most important rule for crossovers in the Sandbox Verse is no gamejacking. For those of you not familiar with ARG terminology, gamejacking is when someone tries to have their story take over someone else’s story. If you want to do something involving someone else, talk to them about it beforehand. This goes double for any big, game-changer plots. Those are always fun to write and read, but don’t wreck everyone else’s toys for the sake of it.
